Macritchie Reservoir is one of the largest and most beautiful nature parks located in Central Singapore. Starting from Macritchie Car Park, there are multiple trails, with Tree Top walk being one of the most popular ones. The trail boasts of a free-standing suspension bridge over the forest canopies below, offering breathtaking 360 degree panoramic views of the lush greenery and vast reservoir. There are a few trails to reach TreeTop walk as it is located relatively in the middle of the forested area.
This is almost in the middle of the forested area, but can be reached through multiple trails
a) Short Trail - From Venus Drive CarPark - this is around 3.0 KM and takes approximately 1 hr. This is good for family with kids or aged people who donot need to walk a lot.
b) Recommended Trail - From Macritchie Reservoir CarPark (Mushroom Cafe), take Macritchie Nature Trail -> Terentang Trail -> Peirce Track. This is one of the most scenic trails through dense greenery. Approximate distance 10.5 KM.
The best place for chit-chat and some rest is along the stairs from the suspension bridge towards Venus Trail. There are also some benches located nearby and along some of the trails.
a) Bukit Pierce and Bukit Kallang - the 2 ends of the TreeTop walk suspension bridge.
b)From the suspension bridge.
TMacritchie Reservoir is good for an early morning hike
Avoid rainy days as many of the trails are raw and can get muddy quickly
Due to dense forests and trees, day brightness reduces along the trail
Take note: TreeTop walk is closed every Monday
